LITS2002 / E20B EXAM ADVICE 2004-2005

  1. The exam is 2 hours in length.  You must answer TWO essay-type questions, chosen from a total of 6.
  2. The exam is based on Module 2, though you may also draw on relevant material from Module 1.  (Don't forget that, because of the protests, we were forced to skip the readings scheduled for Week 7.)
  3. There will be:
    1. one general question on poetry of the nineteenth century;
    2. one question on Shelley's poetry;
    3. one question on Shelley's theory of literature;
    4. one question on Keats' odes;
    5. one question on Hardy's poetry; and
    6. one question on Hopkins' poetry.
  4. You should not ignore any theoretical essays which we discussed in conjunction with the poetry (e.g. Shelley's "Defence of Poetry").
  5. In preparing for the exam, regular attendance at both lectures and tutorials is an advantage, and vice versa.
