LITS2306 / E23F EXAM ADVICE 2004-2005
There are 5 questions to choose from.
You must answer two questions.
One question is devoted exclusively to Kant;
One question, comparative in nature, is devoted to the New Critics;
There are three comparative questions, each asking you to compare an Anglo-American theorist with a Post-colonial theorist on a topic chosen from the following: the reader, representation, the author, literary history, literary form.
Remember that sometimes questions can be worded in a roundabout way to test your ability to figure out the issue which the question is really getting at. For example, a question on the reader or the reading process may not ask you discuss so and so's views on the reader per se but do so indirectly by, for instance, utilising a quote from a theorist.
