Primary Sources (for Required Readings):

  • Adams, Hazard, ed.  Critical Theory Since Plato (Adams) R
  • Leitch, Vincent, et al., eds. The Norton Anthology of Theory and Criticism (Leitch) B P R

Though I will be using essays drawn from each, you may wish to buy either the Adams or the Leitch, as you prefer, but you do not have to buy both; at the very least, photocopy the required readings for yourself.

Occasionally, I may use essays from another useful anthology (Hazard Adams and Leroy Searle, eds. Critical Theory Since 1965 [Adams and Searle], also on Reserve) or from other sources altogether, in which case I will place a copy of those readings in the course folder for you to photocopy.
